Mummy and Bella

It's always nice to have some one on one time with my little girl Bella, and she always likes helping me in the kitchen, so I thought it would be nice to make a cake together.
I found this recipe in one of those free coles brochures and we both love mango's, coconut and custard so we decided to try it out.
Bella was so excited, she grabbed a kitchen chair to stand on while I gathered all the ingredients, as soon as I opened the custard and marscapone she was already asking to lick the spoon, I suppose Bella gets that from me, when we started to mix the vanilla bean seeds into the marscapone I couldn't help my self either and thats when the real fun began, I would have a lick then bella picked up the mango which I had sliced to put onto the cake and she would have a lick of the mango and then say oh that tastes bitter then she would have another lick and another lick. I opened the bag of coconut and her hand flew so fast into the air to grab some coconut I just knew she was having the time of her life.
We did finish the cake and it looked so sweet just like the picture then Bella said we will leave it in the fridge now and when daddy comes home he will love it......

The Giant Belly

Well its coming to the end of the longest pregnancy ever, and the count down is on!!!!
Over the past months the baby in the giant belly has dined on the very best of foods including smoothies, cakes, chocolates and other sweet foods, because my theory is what you eat is what you are so I know my little baby will be so so sweet.......
I find myself very lucky to be having the baby at the sweetest time of the year, you guessed it summer time. I have my bags packed and ready for the moment the baby in the giant belly decides to pop out.
And the only worry on my mind will be my dear dear husband and the 3 little pigs at home, what will happen at home I don't know, will Bella get her hair brushed, will Peter get to school on time, will Christian get his nappy changed all will be revealed in a matter of time will super dad aaron live up to the challenge!!!!!
Stay tuned to see what happens in the lives of the viljoens.

Beerenberg Strawberry Farm

Strawberries are so sweet and luscious, so we decided to take the kiddies down to the strawberry farm, its free for children to pick and only costs $3 bucks for adults. As soon as we got there we headed for the strawberry patch, it was such a treat to see the strawberries they where as big as kiwi fruits and the flavour was so sweet. Peter and Bella started picking while christian sat in the dirt eating strawberries, he
was covered from head to toe.
We all had a great day especially the kids, Bella loved the whole experience and couldn't stop commenting on how she loved going to strawberry shortcakes strawberry farm and picking the strawberries, while on the other hand peter will not eat fruit so I have to be a bit more creative in the way I serve his food, I usually will make up a smoothie and blend up heaps of fruit, ice-cream, milk, honey, and vanilla bean puree, which is really sneaky of me because what he cant see wont hurt him, it all just tastes sweet.

Jamie Oliver

I love cooking, and I love creating new dishes, and if there is any one who I would like to thank it would be Jamie Oliver, his inspiration and dedication to food is sooooo contagious, he has inspired me in every way possible and when ever there is a dull moment in my kitchen, when I can't seem to think of what I should make for dinner, I just pop on one of my Jamie Oliver dvds or whip out one of his cook books and in less than a few seconds I'm inspired and ready to start cooking.
I love the way he is so passionate about spices, herbs, colour and flavour his energy and charisma is entertaining and even though my husband gets a bit jealous when I talk about the new recipes I have learnt from Jamie Oliver, Aaron has been seen in the kitchen vigorously working on one of Jamie's recipes.
So why not try out some of his healthy but tasty recipes, I bet you will be hooked just like me.......

Summer Paradise

Summer time is my favorite part of the year, with endless days at the beach and balmy nights laying out on the hammock, what more could a girl want. Mango's, watermelon, Strawberries and Peaches are just some of the sweetest things I love to eat after a long hot day out in the sun. I love to see my children having loads of fun as they splash around under the sprinkler. But nothing beats walking along the beach with my true love as the Sunset goes down xoxoxoxoxo.

Testimony

Seeing that I'm a religious person I thought I would share some of my beliefs and teachings of the church I belong to and it happens to be Sunday today so it fits in quite well. Instead of me preaching a sermon I came across a hymn in the lds children's hymn book which is simple to understand and explains a little on some of the spiritual knowledge I know to be true, through prayer and faith.
The hymn is titled The Church Of Jesus Christ.
I belong to The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. I know who I am. I know God's plan. I'll follow him in faith. I believe in the Savior Jesus Christ. I'll honor his name. I'll do what is right; I'll follow his light. His truth I will proclaim.

True Love

Well I couldn't help but think about how much I love my husband Aaron, so let me tell you a few thoughts on such a romantic subject.......
It all started the first time we met, it was an unusual circumstance I never noticed what he was wearing or the muscley arms, I noticed other things like his beautiful hand writing and strong voice, I recognized his inner qualities and could see his outer strength and conviction. Sure you think about meeting some one who is handsome , tanned and muscley, which Aaron was but every thing I had dreamed about in a person is more than just physical and I could see things in Aaron that I admired and I felt the woman that would marry him would be very lucky, not knowing then that I would be that very girl.
On our second meeting nearly one and a half years later it wasn't so unusual, it was a moment that I will hold dear to my heart for the rest of my life, it goes something like this. I arrived at the NZ airport wondering how things would turn out, would we both still feel the same way, would we get along, all those things you start to think about before you go out on a date. And all of a sudden there he was standing there waiting for me, Tall, strong, gentle and handsome we greeted each other and then went to get my luggage and pay for the car park, Aaron escorted me to the car and opened the door for me, as we were about to drive off Aaron turned to look at me and held out his hand my hand fit in his like a glove and I remember the feeling, holding his hand felt so familiar like we had known each other before, I knew then that I would be by his side Forever....Together, Forever in Love........
